The Kenmore & District Pipe Band enjoyed a very successful season this year, culminating in winning the Washington State Pipe Band competition in July at the Mt Vernon Highland Games. As a result of our success and expanding size, we are forming a Grade V band in addition to our current GIV band. We are looking for pipers and drummers to fill our expanding ranks. If you have an interest in either group, please stop by and visit us on Tuesday evenings at the Archbishop Murphy High School in south Everett, Washington.
The Kenmore & District Pipe Band came into being in the year 2001 when a group of people with a common appreciation for Scottish piping and drumming gathered in order to enhance that appreciation by improving their musical skills. Some of these people brought previous piping and drumming experience to the group; others were beginners. The group included all levels of ability, all ages, genders and people from broad spectrums of trades and professions. Inevitably, it was not long until performing in the public became one of the group's activities.
Under the leadership of Founder Jim McGillivray and Pipe Major Jeremy Knight, the band has become an able competition band and increasingly popular performing group. We strive for excellence while enjoying both personal and musical compatibility.
The Kenmore & District Pipe Band takes part in many festivals and events around the greater Seattle, Tacoma, Snohomish, and Skagit areas.
We are looking for experienced Pipers and Drummers
